Hi Rooster,
I would NEVER NEVER EVER recommend fitting a rear tyre other than the standard size 140/80-15.
What's the point of fitting a 140/90-15 when it rubs on mounting bolts? Sounds like an good way for a quick trip to hospital.
How can anyone recommend looks in preference to safety?
And don't be tempted to 'save' some money by fitting cheap Chinese tyres. But a quality tyre in the standard size.
Note: tyre is the correct spelling in England.
It rains most of the time here. And you can't go more than 100 yards before coming to a bend. Tyre performance is of paramount importance. I suppose if you cruise in straight lines in the sunshine a Chinese tyre would be just about acceptable. But a tyre that rubs on mounting bolts?? I think not.
Happy Savage riding - ever the ones with tyres rubbing mounting bolts.
